Sánchez_U_BootToday, Cuban dissenter Yoani Sánchez visited during her first travel abroad in ten years the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial. Contemporary witness and compatriot Jorge Luís García Vázquez guided her through the former central Stasi remand prison.

Belgische GruppeYesterday, 23rd April, pupils from Antwerp Institute of Applied Arts visited the Memorial at the former Stasi prison in Hohenschönhausen in order to donate a sculpture representing a former prisoner's experiences in jail.

Memorial is mourning the passing of Professor Ahmed Jdey
Jdey_2 Professor Ahmed Jdey is the most known historian of Tunisian Contemporary History and was an important partner of the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial in reference to coming to terms with the Tunisian dictatorship. Last Friday (20th July) Professor Jdey died.

BaraganWith the exhibition „Black Pentecost – deportations in the Romanian Baragan Plain“ the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial and the Romanian cultural institute commemorate a nearly unknown chapter of European post-war history.
