Empty Chair - freedom for Liu Xiaobo
His chair is still empty – freedom for Liu Xiaobo!

On December 10th 2010 at 13:18 pm the Chinese civil rights activist Liu Xiaobo was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize - his chair however remained empty. China did not let him go to Oslo. Being isolated from the outside world, he has been in prison for three years.

That is why on December 10th 2011 we put an empty chair at 13:18 pm in front of the embassies of the People’s Republic of China - worldwide. With this symbolic gesture we wanted to put emphasis on our request to the Chinese government: Freedom for Liu Xiaobo!
